Description
The boundary walls and gate to Cross Manor are likely from the 19th century, with some modifications made in the 20th century. The walls are constructed from rubble and feature an iron gate. The wall has saddle-back coping and stands approximately 2 meters high, extending to an opening that leads to a garage, which is not included in this listing. Beyond the opening, there are recessed flat quadrant walls that lead to a pair of square crenellations made of rubble, positioned between two square gate piers that support the wrought iron gate. A set-back section measuring about 8 meters across follows, after which a plain wall returns to the gable end of Cross Manor. This boundary wall is significant for the visual containment of the village center, located opposite Rock Cottage.
