Description
Journey's End Inn is an inn located in Ringmore Village, dating from the 18th and 19th centuries. The building features a smooth rendered exterior and a slate roof, with a complex plan that includes a front block and a narrower parallel range. There is a throughway on the left side, where the front wall slightly changes direction. Adjacent to this is a lower unit with a very large square brick stack that rises beyond the ridge.
The main front of the inn is two storeys high and has a window arrangement of 2:1:3. Starting from the left, there are two 2-light glazing bar casements above one similar window with a cambered head and a part-glazed door sheltered by a slate hood. To the left of the tall ridge stack, there are a 2-light and a 3-light glazing bar casement. The main front also features two 2-light glazing bar casements flanking a 16-pane sash window above a glazed door set in a gabled porch, along with a 2-light horizontal sliding casement and a 4-pane sash window. There is a gable stack on the right and a smaller external stack on the second gable. The interior has been partially inspected and has undergone considerable modifications in the 20th century.
