Description
Higher Westerland is a detached house with an 18th century core, possibly dating back to the 17th century. It is constructed of stuccoed stone and features a slate hipped roof. The building has two storeys and three bays, with sash windows that do not have glazing bars. The central entrance has a fielded and flush panel door, with the top panels glazed. A 20th-century glazed verandah extends across the front of the house. On the east side, there is a Gothick pointed arch window. The house has rendered chimney stacks on either side. To the left (west), there is a lower two-storey, one-bay wing with a lower pitched hipped slate roof that has wide eaves and a sash window with glazing bars. At the rear, there is a parallel range with a hipped roof. Inside, the house features chamfered ceiling beams.
