Description

This is a circa 17th century house that has been subdivided into four cottages: Jasmine Cottage, Wisteria Cottage, The Penthouse, and Kiln Cottage. Formerly known as Moor Tor Manor and Jasmine Cottage, it is a long, roughly built range of stone rubble, with some parts rendered. The roof is slate, with gable ends. The house has one storey and an attic, and features approximately eleven windows, which are mostly 19th and 20th century casements with glazing bars. Flat-headed dormers are set into the eaves. Various 20th century doors and porches are present. A reused moulded ceiling beam serves as the lintel over a doorway on the left-hand side. A large stone rubble chimney stack is located at the rear, with one at the north-east gable end and another in the centre. The building’s foundations are rock, which is visible at the rear. A later extension, dating from the 18th or 19th century, is located at the south-west end.
