Description

Love Lane House and the Old Farmhouse is a former farmhouse that has been divided into two houses. It dates from around the 17th century and was remodeled in the 18th century. The building is constructed of stone rubble with a stuccoed front and has a slate roof with gabled ends and overhanging eaves. It stands two storeys tall and features a long range of four windows. The windows are sashes with glazing bars, with the left-hand side having two-light sashes. To the left of center, there is an 18th-century flush panel and glazed door, which is topped by a 20th-century hood supported by iron brackets. A 20th-century French window is located to the right of center. The building has large chimney stacks on the rear wall, which are now incorporated into rear outshuts with catslide roofs. There is a wing at the center of the rear with a chimney stack at the gable end, and another chimney stack is located at the east end of the main range. Inside, there are 18th-century fielded-panel doors and corner cupboards. The Old Farmhouse, at the west end, is said to have the date 1660 carved on a roof truss.
