Description

This is a lamp post located approximately 0.6 metres north of No. 9 on Smith Street in Dartmouth. It dates from the late 19th century and is made of cast iron. The lamp post features a tubular pedestal that leads to a moulded base and a tapering stem. The lower section of the stem is bulbous and decorated with leafy arabesques. It has small slender curving brackets that support a 20th-century replacement lantern. This lamp post is included for its group value.
