Description

This is an early 19th-century linhay, depicted on the 1841 Tithe map, situated at Lower Barn Farm. The linhay is constructed from uncoursed slatestone rubble with a half-hipped slate roof. It has a rectangular plan with the east end built into a bank. The front, facing northeast and spanning five bays, features circular-section piers and a weatherboarded front to the loft. The left (east) gable end includes double doors, providing access from a track on a raised bank to the first floor. Inside, the roof structure is notable for its scissor-bracing.
