Description
Castle Barton Hotel is a farmhouse that has been converted for use as a hotel. It dates from the early 19th century and is constructed of plastered stone with a slate hipped roof that has two spans over a double depth plan. The building is two storeys high with an attic and features three bays. The windows are sash style with glazing bars set in plain architraves. The central entrance has a panelled door, which is now glazed, and is flanked by a porch supported by Tuscan columns that hold up an entablature. There are three modern flat-roof dormers on the roof. At the left-hand (northwest) end, there is a lean-to with a sash window above a modern glazed door. Inside, the hotel retains a contemporary, though plain, staircase.
