Description

This is an early 18th-century building on the south side of High Street. It is three storeys high with an attic, and has a two-bay front with a 2:2 window arrangement. The roof is covered with Welsh slate and has gables facing the street. The building’s façade is of good classical design, featuring fluted Ionic pilasters that extend through the first and second floors, supporting an entablature with a modillion cornice. The windows are architraved sash windows with glazing bars. A modern shopfront is present. A 19th-century range forms the rear of the property.

The interior contains a fine later 18th-century staircase with carved brackets, turned balusters and a moulded ramped handrail. Raised and fielded panel doors are also present. A front room on the first floor has a plaster dentil cornice.
