Description
24 High Street is an early 19th-century building that was refronted in the later 19th century. It was the home of John and Walter Venning, who were prison reformers in Russia during the 18th and 19th centuries, as noted by a tablet in the Parish Church. The building has three storeys and features two windows. It has a hipped Welsh slate roof with a rendered stack. The front is plastered and includes a plain eaves band and a band at the second floor. Splayed-bay sash windows with pilasters and cornices rise through the first and second floors. There is a modern shop front. The building is included for its group value.
