Description

The well head near Castle Farm is a 19th-century structure made of rubble. It is a small square building topped with a square pyramidal roof that has a flat crowning stone, which may be missing a finial. Around the base of the pyramid, there is a series of rounded stones. On the north-west side, there is an opening with a slate slab drip and a small plank door. The south-east side features a small square opening set high, which is flanked by slit openings. This well head is located in a field to the left of the approach lane to the old Castle, which is marked as Castle Farm on the Ordnance Survey map.
