Description

This building is a shippen, which is a type of agricultural building, located approximately 30 metres south west of West Sherford Farmhouse. It dates from the 18th century or earlier. The structure is made of stone rubble and features a corrugated asbestos roof with both hipped and gabled ends. It has two storeys, with shippen doors on the ground floor and a hay loft door above. The left-hand (south east) loft door is accessed by external stone stairs. The right-hand (south west) end has a very small moulded granite slit window. This building is included for its group value.
