Description
Garliford Mill is a miller's house, likely built in the early 19th century. It features a colourwashed and rendered exterior with a slate roof that is hipped at the ends, and has end stacks with brick shafts. The building has an L-shaped plan, with the main range being two rooms wide and an entrance located to the left of centre, facing south across the River Yeo. The exterior is two storeys high and has a slightly asymmetrical three-bay front, which includes a 19th-century front door with a gabled porch hood. The windows are early 19th-century small pane timber casements, with three lights on the left and four lights on the right. The interior was not accessible during the survey in 1987, but the house is noted for its attractive and unspoiled exterior. An inspection of the interior might lead to a revision of the suggested dating.
