Description

The Pleasaunce is a small house, likely originating from the 18th century, with internal modernisation completed in the late 20th century. It is constructed of whitewashed rendered cob and stone rubble, topped with a thatched roof that has gables at both ends and a stack on the right end. The building has a single depth plan, originally consisting of two rooms, with a heated kitchen/living room on the right and an unheated room on the left. There is a lean-to addition on the left end, which is probably from the 19th century. The partition between the two original rooms has been removed. The exterior features two storeys and an asymmetrical front with two windows, a central front door from the 20th century, and small timber casements with glazing bars that date from the 19th or 20th century. Inside, the house has a plain interior with an open fireplace at the right end, which includes a clay-lined bread oven.
