Range Of Farmbuildings Comprising Stables, Cider House, Granary Cartsheds And Detached Piggeries Circa 5 Metres West Of Head Barton

This is a range of farm buildings, including stables, a cider house, a granary, cartsheds, and detached piggeries, located approximately 5 metres west of Head Barton. The buildings were constructed in 1882, as indicated by a datestone. They are made of unrendered stone rubble, with some cob and brick dressings. The layout is L-shaped, featuring lofted stables and a cider house that extend at right angles to the rear left side of the lofted granary. Single-storey cartsheds, a tool room, a stick room, and a furnace room extend from the right gable end. The detached single-storey piggeries are located at the rear and at right angles to the cartsheds.

The lofted granary has a four-window range with a central gabled loading door above the entrance, which has double plank doors. There are external stone steps at the left gable end, with the datestone 'MR 1882' above. The cider house on the rear side features a loft door above a plank door, with a two-light casement window (six panes per light) to the right. The cider press is intact. The stables have a window on each side of the plank door. The detached piggeries at the rear have a slate roof with gable ends, four plank doors, and stone rubble walls for the front enclosures.
