Description

Jewell’s Lodge is an early 19th-century lodge built as an entrance to King’s Nympton Park. It has rendered walls and a slate roof with gable ends. There is a rendered axial stack and a rendered stack to the rear left side, with a shallow bread oven projection. The lodge follows a small two-room plan, with a direct central entry into the larger left-hand room, which is heated by the rear stack. A smaller room is situated to the right. A single-storey extension is attached to the right end.

The exterior is symmetrical, featuring a large, central, pedimented bay that projects to both the front and rear. This bay is flanked by small windows with iron stanchions and leaded lights. Heraldic achievements are displayed in the centre of both pediments. A gabled slate roof covers the porch, which has a 20th-century door.

The interior has been significantly altered in the 20th century. The fireplaces have brick arched lintels.
