6/57 Headpost - II Former pair of cottages, now in single occupation. Possibly C18 origins but entirely re-modelled in mid C19. Stone rubble, upper storey rendered. Asbestos slate roof with gable end stone rubble stacks with tapered cups, offsets and each with bread oven projection. The central partitions have been removed both cottages, and the staircase in the left hand room removed. Two storeys. 3-window range. Symmetrical C19 fenestration intact with unusual 2-light casements with 6 small panes above 4 larger panes to each light. Similar 3-light casements to ground floor. Central 2-light window between the two cottages. Clay-tiled lean-to porch roofs supported on shaped timber brackets to each cottage, with heavy plank doors with narrowly spaced chamfered cover strips and chamfered door surrounds. Small lean-to to rear left side. Apart from the removal of the partitions and staircase to left-hand cottage, C19 joinery is principally intact.
