Description

Home Farm House is a farmhouse built around 1840, with some alterations made in the late 19th century. It features rendered cob on a stone rubble plinth and has a slate roof with gable ends, overhanging verges, and plain bargeboards. The building has gable-end stacks with brick shafts. The layout consists of a two-room plan with a central entrance passage that leads to a staircase located behind the right-hand room. The left-hand room is likely the kitchen, while the right-hand room serves as the parlour. In the late 19th century, a single-storey outshut was added to the left-hand end of the house.

The exterior is two storeys high and has an almost symmetrical three-window front. The mid-19th century windows are three-light casements with glazing bars and slate cills. The central doorway features a small rectangular overlight and a 19th-century plank door. The rear elevation faces the farmyard. The single-storey outshut at the left-hand end is constructed of stone rubble with a slate lean-to roof and includes a small two-light window at the front, set in a red brick surround. The interior has not been inspected. This farmhouse is part of the Kings Nympton Park estate and is associated with a range of 19th-century planned farm buildings located to the north and northeast.
