Mid C19. Stone rubble. Roof covered with red "fishscale" tiles. Red-brick chimneys, 2 of them with round and louvred chimney-pots. Double-depth plan composed of one long range with 2 shorter ranges at right-angles to it; the shorter ranges occupy only two thirds the length of the long range, leaving space for an entrance porch at the west end. Romantic Gothic design. 2 storeys, multi-gabled with scalloped bargeboards and finials on each gable. Main front, facing north-west, is twin-gabled and 2 windows wide. All windows visible from road have wooden casements with pointed arches to the lights and widely-spaced horizontal glazing bars; canted bay window to right of ground storey. West front has similar detail; doorway with pointed stone arch, plank door. INTERIOR not inspected. The house is not shown on the Ilfracombe tithe map of 1840, although a non-domestic building is shown in about the same position. Approximately 20 metres to the south-east is a summerhouse (qv) of similar date to the house. (Ilfracombe Chronicle: Hussell AT: 9.7.1937: 8; Devon Record Office: Ilfracombe Tithe Map: 1840-).
