Description
The Harbour Master's Office and Ilfracombe Yacht Club, formerly known as the Old Seamen's Bethel, is a terraced building located on The Quay in Ilfracombe. This structure likely dates back to the 17th century and has undergone significant alterations over the years. The front elevation is rendered, while the right-hand side features random rubble. The building has a synthetic red pantiled roof and consists of two storeys with a five-window front. There are three entrances: two segmental-arched entrances on the left, one of which has a panelled door, and a square-headed entrance on the right with a six-panel door flanked by two casement windows. The upper floor windows are mostly partly blocked, showing remnants of sashes with exposed boxes. The interior has been largely altered in the late 20th century, but some old beams can still be seen on the first floor. The roof space is not accessible.
