Description
West View is a house likely built in the early 19th century. It features a whitewashed and rendered exterior with a slate roof that peaks over the left end. There are stacks at the right end and a rear lateral stack, both with rendered shafts. The house has a single depth main block situated on a corner site in the village, with the left end angled towards the corner. The exterior is two stories high and has a symmetrical front with three windows. The central front door is probably from the 19th century and is half-glazed. The windows are regular small-pane timber casements, likely from the 19th or early 20th century. The left end of the house boasts a charming early 19th-century 20-pane shallow bow window on the ground floor, along with a first-floor two-light small-pane casement window from the 19th or early 20th century. The interior has not been inspected, but the house makes an important contribution to the village center.
