Description

Polsham Cottage is a house dating from the late 18th century to early 19th century. It features a roughcast exterior and a slate roof, with end stacks that have rendered and brick shafts. The main block is single-depth and two rooms wide, with a central entrance. The building stands two storeys high and has a symmetrical three-bay front with deep boxed eaves. There is a simple open porch supported by square-section timber posts, topped with an entablature and a flat roof.

The entrance is framed by a reeded doorcase that has carved roundels in the upper corners and panelled reveals, leading to a recessed six-panel door with glazed upper panels. The ground floor windows are fitted with late 18th century to early 19th century sixteen-pane sashes that include margin panes, while the first-floor windows have later four-pane horned sashes. All windows are equipped with Venetian shutters. The interior has not been inspected but may contain features of interest. Polsham Cottage has group value with Nos 23 and 25, which are contemporary and have similar glazing.
