Description

The gate, gatepiers, and flanking walls at Chulmleigh Primary School date from around 1859. The wooden gate is complemented by gatepiers made of stone rubble with ashlar dressings. The flanking walls are also constructed from stone rubble and feature iron railings. The gatepiers are square in shape and topped with gabletted caps that have blind trefoil decorations on each face. The short railings include larger verticals at intervals, adorned with scrolled brackets on the inner side, all topped with spearhead finials.
