Description
This is a house with a shop located at 52 High Street, built in the mid-19th century. The building features solid rendered walls, with the right side wall being slate-hung, and has a slated roof. It stands three storeys high and has a two-window range. The shop front, likely from the mid to late 19th century, includes panelled pilasters on either side of the display window and house door. Above each pilaster is a small console, and the entablature above is now boxed in, except for the dentilled cornice. The house door, located to the right, has three panels, with the top two now glazed. The second-storey windows have moulded surrounds, with panelled friezes above and cornices supported by consoles. The shorter third-storey windows feature moulded architraves and moulded, bracketed cills that extend across the entire front. Both storeys have six-paned sash windows, with the size of the panes adjusted to fit the window heights. A moulded top cornice rests on long brackets, with a dentil course in the spaces between them, and there is a tall parapet. The interior has not been inspected.
