Description
No. 125 on Boutport Street is a house currently used as a funeral parlour. It likely dates from the 18th century but has undergone significant alterations and is reported to have experienced a fire. The exterior is roughcast stone with a slate roof that has gabled ends and a brick stack at the right end that rises two storeys. The building features an asymmetrical three-window arrangement. There is a small 20th-century door in the center, which is sheltered by a porch hood supported by brackets with a frieze. To the right of the door, there is a wide cartway, and the door is flanked by two-light timber casement windows, each with two panes per light. The first floor has three similar windows. The interior has been partially inspected and appears to have been gutted for its current use. The building is included for its group value.
