Description

A pair of houses built as a single unit, dating to the early 19th century, and subsequently adapted to include a shop and post office on the ground floor. The front facade is of solid render, with a slate roof. Number 21 is single-fronted with a doorway to the right, while number 22 is double-fronted with a central doorway. The houses are two storeys high with a five-window range, displaying a symmetrical composition, and feature two-storey bow windows centrally and at each end. The doorways are round-arched, with six-panelled doors, the lower two panels being flush. Barred sash windows are present throughout, with 8 over 8 panes in the bow windows and 6 over 6 panes above the doorways. The ground storey of the bow at Number 21 has been replaced by a shop front, featuring a pair of display windows curving inwards towards a recessed three-quarter-glazed door, flanked by pilasters and an entablature. A deep flat eaves cornice completes the facade. The interior remains uninspected.
