Description

This is a late 18th-century house located on Pilton Street in Barnstaple. It is likely built of roughcast over brick, with a gabled slate roof. The house has a double-depth plan, forming two rooms with the left room being wider than the right.

The house is two storeys and has an attic. It features a timber eaves cornice and a platband at the first-floor level. The front façade has an asymmetrical but regular three-window arrangement. A blind window sits above the entrance, which is positioned slightly right of centre, and is reached by steps leading to a three-panel door with fielded panels and a top light with glazing bars. The windows are generally 2 over 2-pane sashes with wide margin panes, although the first-floor window on the left has been replaced. There are two gabled attic dormers, each with a one-over-one-pane horned sash window and margin panes. The interior has not been inspected.
