Description
No. 87 High Street is a house that has been converted into a shop. It likely underwent a refronting in the mid-19th century, although the original building may date back to the 18th century or earlier. The front is solid and rendered, topped with a slated roof. The building has three storeys and is three windows wide. The ground storey features a late 20th-century shop front. The second-storey windows are segmental-headed with bead-moulded surrounds and keystones, and there is a cill band with mullioned-and-transomed wooden casements. The third-storey windows have been altered to have square heads, with bead-moulded jambs and two-paned sashes set in recessed box-frames. The entire front, including the ground storey, has raised quoins, and there is a moulded band above the second storey along with a boxed eaves cornice. The interior has not been inspected.
