Description
This barn, located approximately 10 metres south-east of Uppincott Barton, dates from the mid to late 19th century. It is constructed of cob and rubble, with some brick patching at the corners, and features a corrugated iron roof. The barn has central opposing large double doors that were originally full two-storey height with haylofts above. The front is plain and plastered, but the door height has been reduced by 20th-century plasterboard. Around 1960, 19th-century ecclesiastical doors were added, which include studded plank doors and ornate wrought-iron strap hinges. There is a single buttress on the right side and a small wooden ventilator slot above it. The roof is hipped at both ends, and the right end wall facing the road is made of rubble. The original interior remains largely intact, featuring a six-bay roof. This barn is included for its group value.
