Description
Crinkle Crankle at The Sanctuary is an early 19th-century serpentine wall that forms the south and east sides of a rectangular walled garden located to the east of the Sanctuary, a house dating from the early 19th century. The wall is approximately 4 meters high and 90 meters long, constructed from cob with some areas of lime render still visible. It features double Roman tile coping and is built on a mixed rubble and brick plinth. Please note that modern Ordnance Survey maps do not accurately represent the wall's shape, showing it instead as a straight line.
