Description

ST 11 SW HEMYOCK WHITEHALL 5/71 The Forge 18.7.75 - II Cottage with barn attached, formerly cottage with forge. Late C18 or early C19. Random rubble flint with gable end thatched roof. 2-room cottage now entered through an addition at the right-hand side, heated by axial stack with brick shafts; barn (now converted into living accommodation) to left-hand side. 2 storeys. Exterior. Front: 2 and 3-light casement windows, some of them C19, but mostly C20; brick porch. Interior: some contemporary carpentry; roof with collar rafter trusses, pegged and crossed at apex.
