MORCHARD BISHOP SIDBOROUGH HILL (west side) SS 70 NE 5/191 Oldborough - Sidborough

House, formerly small farmhouse and adjoining cottage. Late C17. Plastered cob on rubble footings; rubble stacks topped with C19 brick; roof is thatched to road (north-east), corrugated asbestos to front. 2 room house facing south-west, away from road. Left end was probably separate 1 room plan cottage with axial stack between it and adjoining farmhouse with end stack. Right room was formerly 2 rooms. 2 storeys. Irregularly disposed 4 window front of various sized late C19 casements with glazing bars. Main door with C20 gabled porch to left room and secondary C20 door near right end. Roof is hipped to left, gabled-ended to right. Blind rear wall except one small C20 window and oven projection for axial stack. Left room has chamfered crossbeam with runout stops and right room has chamfered crossbeam with scroll stops. Both fireplaces are of rubble and their oak lintels are chamfered with runout stops. Roof not inspected.
