Description

Fairfield House is an early 19th-century detached house located in Colebrook Lane, Cullompton. The house is constructed of blocked plaster, likely on a cob base, and is roofed with slate. It follows a central staircase plan. A brick stack is situated at the right-hand end of the building. The front elevation is symmetrical with a three-window range. It features hornless sash windows with 16 panes, except for the central first-floor window which has 12. A central portico has a moulded canopy with dentil detailing and two Ionic columns, sheltering a panelled door and door reveals. To the right of the main block is a lower range, potentially the remnant of an earlier house, evidenced by a right-hand end stack. This section now has two- and three-light metal frame casement windows.
