Description
Old Bridge Cottage is a detached cottage dating from the late 17th or early 18th century. It is constructed of cob, with a stone plinth, and plastered walls beneath a hipped thatched roof. Brick lean-to extensions with corrugated iron roofs have been added to each end. The cottage follows a 2-room cross passage plan, with internal end stacks featuring brick shafts. The front facade has a symmetrical 3-window arrangement. The casement windows are 20th century replacements, with those on the first floor having lintels that just break the eaves level. A lean-to porch with a slate roof fronts the original 17th-century door, which has spear hinges. Visible through the exterior are some chamfered cross beams.
