PLYMTREE NORMANS GREEN ST 00 SE 3/142 Plymtree United Reform Church - GV II

Non-conformist church. Dated 1850. Roughly-shaped grey limestone blocks laid to rough courses, sandstone ashlar detail. Plan: single cell gable-end block with gabled entrance porch on south front end. C20 extension on rear end. Exterior: porch is gabled in centre of south end. It contains 2 trefoil-headed lancets. Doorway on left side rebuilt in C20. Porch is flanked by tall trefoiled- headed lancets and oculus window over. Above is a large plaque inscribed 1850. Low set back buttresses on main corners and similar buttresses dividing the regular 4- window fronts each side. Interior: is largely original roof of simple braced trusses. At the north end a large blind arch with text painted above. Original plain pine furniture including a good rostrum.
