Description
Prowse Cottage is a cottage dating from the late 17th century, which was enlarged in 1984. The original structure features plastered cob walls built on rubble footings, and it has a cob or rubble stack topped with 20th-century brick. The cottage has a thatched roof and is gable-ended, consisting of two rooms that face southeast, with a projecting front lateral stack. The front has two windows, which are 20th-century casements, all located to the right of the stack, while the door is at the left end behind a 20th-century glass-sided porch with a thatched roof. Inside, the larger room on the right has an axial beam with straight out stops, and the carpentry details are otherwise plain. The 1984 extension to the right (northeast) has a thatched roof that extends over a two-storey, two-window range.
