Description

The bridge at ST 001122 is a Grade II listed structure that carries a minor road between Halberton and Ash Thomas over the now dismantled Tiverton branch line of the Bristol and Exeter Railway, which was opened in 1848. Designed by Isambard Kingdom Brunel, the bridge is constructed of limestone ashlar with coursed rubble sandstone revetment and a sandstone ashlar plinth. It features a wide skew arch, a moulded strong course, and moulded coping along the parapet.
