Description

Peverstone Farmhouse is an early 19th-century farmhouse constructed of cob with a stone plinth, finished with plaster and topped by a slate hipped roof. The building features a central staircase plan with two rear wings and a rear yard. It stands two storeys tall and has a symmetrical front with a three-window range, which includes 16-pane hornless sash windows. The central porch is supported by Tuscan columns and pilasters, and features a dentilled and moulded cornice beneath a gabled-end slate roof. The heavy panelled door is complemented by a rectangular fanlight, with panelled reveals and soffit. The eaves cornice is also dentilled.

On the left-hand side, there is a four-light window on the first floor with a transom, each light containing 14 leaded panes. Below this are two 16-pane sash windows, one of which is unhorned. The right-hand elevation has a 16-pane horned sash window on the first floor and a four-light window similar to the left side, although most of its leaded panes are missing. Below, there is another four-light window with much of its leading gone, alongside a 16-pane hornless sash window. Each rear wing has a two-light casement window, with one light containing 15 leaded panes and the other light featuring stanchions. The farmhouse has two axial stacks with brick shafts in each wing. The interior is plain and contemporary.
