Description

A large, detached house dating from the late 18th century, situated on the south side of Cowick Lane and set back from the road. The house is two storeys high with a five-window garden front rendered in stucco. A prominent Greek Doric porch with an iron balustrade gives access, and a bowed window is positioned above. The windows are a mix of sash windows and casements, some with decorative glazing bars. A doorway on the north side is sheltered by an 18th-century hood supported on elaborate carved brackets. The roof is slate, and the parapet is panelled. The building has undergone alterations since its original construction.
