Description
The Kier is a substantial detached house dating to 1789, with later extensions and alterations. It has a stucco exterior and a slate roof. The central wing is three storeys high and three windows wide, with matching two-storey wings with basements extending to either side. A central, projecting porch features solid sides and Greek Doric columns set in recessed surrounds. The property has three-storey canted bay windows on the right and left sides; the ground-floor windows are square-headed and architraved with casements, while those above are sash windows with glazing bars. The ground-floor windows of the wings are pedimented, and wrought iron balconies are present on all ground-floor windows. A cornice runs along the top of the building, finished with a parapet. Extensions to the left include an advanced, pedimented wing. The rear of the house features a central, full-height semi-circular bay. The interior has not been inspected.
