Description

Hanford Row is a row of cottages dating to 1770. The buildings are constructed of brown brick and feature a Mansard roof with plaintiles on the lower slope and pantiles on the upper. The row comprises two storeys plus dormers, with each cottage having one window and an entrance. Doorways are arranged in pairs. The windows are C19 gabled sashes with decorative bargeboards, and the doors are a mix of original, planked and panelled examples and later C20 replacements. Segmental arches top the windows and doorways. The windows have flush frames and thick glazing bars, with plate glass in Nos 14, 16 and 19. A brick eaves cornice runs along the top of the buildings.
