Description
Colleton Villa is a Grade II* listed building, dating from around 1830. This two-storey villa features a three-window classical stucco front, which serves as a closing vista at the end of the street. The façade is enhanced by quoin pilasters topped with modified Corinthian capitals and a pediment. The windows have moulded architraves and console brackets, while an Ionic porch leads to a panelled door with a rectangular light above and panelled reveals. The villa has sash windows with glazing bars, although the roof is not visible.
In front, there is a paved forecourt where the railings have been removed, flanked by curved screen walls that include garden doors. The back elevation presents an interesting composition with two splayed projections and a balcony, along with a pedimented bay window between them. However, this area has been altered by the addition of a verandah and a gable.
