Description
Nos. 11 and 13 Victoria Road are a pair of early 19th century cottages located in Topsham. They are constructed with mass wall techniques, featuring painted and roughcast finishes. The cottages have hipped slate roofs and red brick chimney shafts adorned with bands and round terracotta chimney pots. Cast iron rainwater goods are also present.
The cottages are designed as a mirror plan pair, each being double depth and one room wide, with rooms heated by axial chimney stacks. The exterior is symmetrical, with each cottage having a single window front. They stand two storeys tall and feature deep boxed eaves supported by shaped eaves brackets. The entrances are recessed on the left and right sides, each with a four-panel door and rectangular overlights. The windows are 16-pane hornless sash types. The interior has not been inspected. Overall, these cottages represent a complete example of early 19th century residential architecture.
