Description

This is a group of three cottages, numbered 19 to 23, located on the south side of Monmouth Street, Topsham. The eastern end of the buildings dates to the early 19th century, while the western end is older. The cottages are constructed with roughcast and plastered walls, and generally feature sash windows, many with glazing bars. Each has a porch; number 19 has an interesting carved doorcase in a Georgian style but with Gothic details, dated 1818. Number 20 has a small thatched porch. The roofs are slate. The cottages form a varied group and are part of a larger, cohesive group of listed buildings along Monmouth Street.
