Description
Purlebridge Mill, the mill house, and the adjoining outbuildings date from the 18th or 19th century. The buildings are constructed from white-washed stone rubble and feature a slate roof with gabled ends. The structure is two storeys high and has five windows. The mill house has three bays with three-light casement windows that include glazing bars, and a central panelled door with a lean-to slate-roofed stone porch. To the left (north) is the mill, which also has three bays, featuring fixed light windows with glazing bars and a central plain door, along with a loading door on the first floor. The mill is now part of the house. There is also a circa 18th-century cartshed to the north, which has a hipped corrugated iron roof and a partly open front. To the south, there is a long white-washed stone rubble range that serves as a cattleshed and hay loft, featuring a gable-ended corrugated iron roof, doors and windows for the cattlesheds, and loft doors for the hay loft above.
