Description
The Manor is a detached house dating to 1760, with later alterations. It is constructed of brick in Flemish bond, with a hipped slate roof partly concealed behind a parapet. The house has a double-depth plan, with the main rooms situated on either side of a former entrance hall, and is heated by paired internal end stacks. It is arranged over three storeys. The front elevation is symmetrical, featuring a 2:1:2 bay arrangement, with the central bay projecting slightly. The second floor has hornless sash windows with 3 panes above and 6 panes below. The first floor has hornless sash windows with 12 panes. All windows have brick surrounds and external louvred shutters. The ground floor has been significantly altered; two rectangular bays with parapets and pilaster quoins flank the central entrance. A parapet carried as a cornice is supported by openwork iron posts with decorative spandrels over the entrance. Late 20th-century four-light bay windows and a two-light window of the same date occupy the position of the former central doorway. Openwork iron verandahs, likely dating to the early 19th century, are situated to either side of the bay windows; one returns along the right-hand end elevation and is glazed. The right-hand end elevation features hornless sash windows with 9 and 12 panes, and one small casement window; two casement windows are located on the left-hand side. The interior has not been inspected.
