Description
Brooklands Farmhouse is a 17th-century farmhouse that has been divided into two cottages. The building is constructed of stone rubble and cob, with rendering above the first floor. It features a roof made of corrugated asbestos and concrete tiles, with gabled and half-hipped ends. The farmhouse is two storeys high and has a long range of five windows. The windows from the 19th and 20th centuries are two and three light casements with glazing bars. The left-hand ground floor window is a 17th-century feature, consisting of three lights with a chamfered wooden frame and mullions. The doors are from the 20th century, made of glazed and plank materials, and there are 20th-century glazed porches. The end and ridge stacks have been rebuilt in brick. There is also a single-storey flat-roofed extension at the east end, which is rendered and dates from the 20th century. Inside, the farmhouse has a stopped and chamfered ceiling beam with ovolo moulding.
