Description

This is an 18th-century headstone made of Beerstone ashlar, located approximately 8 metres south of the tower of the Church of St Winifred in Branscombe. The upright slab stands about 450 millimetres high and features a shaped head. The front of the headstone has a moulded frame, with the top designed as a bifurcated scroll above a carved winged cherub's head. Unfortunately, the inscription has worn away and is no longer legible.
