Description

Court Cottage is a cottage dating to around the 16th century. It is built of stone rubble with later brick quoins, and the north end wall has been rebuilt. The roof is thatched with half-hipped ends. The cottage has two storeys and a three-window front. It features 20th-century two and three-light casement windows. A 20th-century plank door is located to the right of the centre of the front. There is an outshut at the rear. A central chimney stack is not visible externally. Inside, there are two jointed cruck trusses. Other interior features include a solid timber newel staircase, stopped chamfer ceiling beams, and a central open fireplace with a cambered timber bressummer, chamfer, and stone jambs.
