Description

Rivendall is a cottage dating from around the 16th century. It is constructed of white-washed stone rubble and features a thatched roof with half hipped and gabled ends. The building is two storeys high and has a two-window range, with the right-hand side projecting. The windows are modern casements, and there is a rendered chimney stack at the gable end. A modern wing has been added to the rear of the cottage. Notably, there are two reset 18th-century moulded architrave doorways in the end walls, complete with keyblocks, which were likely brought in from another building. Inside, the cottage has a jointed cruck truss and heavy stop-chamfered ceiling beams.
